General L&D Information

What’s on Calendar

Every month, we release a Learning and Development Calendar that lists all of the training sessions taking place in that month. Some of these will feature compulsory training sessions for new starters, others are training sessions that run on a 6 week cycle and are recommended for your own development.

How to sign up for training sessions?

Your manager will assign you to sessions that they believe are compulsory for your role. However, if you see something on the calendar that you would like to attend, feel free to speak to your manager and let them know, so they can sign you up!

Talent Toolbox

Talent Toolbox is our communication hub and online performance review system.

This tool will help you stay informed about what is going on whether is about events, training, benefits, career opportunities or news in general.

This is also where you will complete your 4, 8 and 12-week reviews during your probationary period. It will help you express how you feel and tell us about your performance and further support to successfully pass probation. In the same way your manager will be able to provide you with valuable feedback, and then you both will have a meeting to discuss in more detail.

Talent Toolbox is also used to plan for and log all of your one-to-ones with your manager and of course your quarterly reviews.

It is therefore a very useful way of keeping track of any outstanding tasks as well as of any short and long-term goals.

Departmental Coaches

Each department has a representative that attends a monthly meeting with the Assistant Director of HR to discuss L&D. Any feedback or areas for improvement in regards to learning and development here at the Landmark London can be passed to them for discussion at this meeting.

Self-development

Self-development is an important factor in your growth here at the Landmark London and we encourage all team members to take an active interest in their own career goals.
This is also why our quarter one and three topics are focused on personal and self-development.
Everyone has their own development goals and we are prepared to equip you with everything you need to progress, but this drive must come from you! Whatever your future development may look like, we believe that in order to progress, you need to make the first move!

Induction Plan

All new team members are provided with an induction plan to outline the first 12 weeks of their employment. In this document, you will also find all of the mandatory and recommended training sessions available to you and we encourage you to make the most of these crucial first weeks.

Buddy System

We’ve all been the ‘new person’ in a new company and we all remember how intimidating this can be – that’s why we have introduced a buddy system here at the Landmark London. All new starters will be assigned a buddy from their department on their first day, so they will always have someone to show them the way and support them in their first few weeks.
