The Best Place to Enjoy Afternoon Tea in London
Whilst plenty of luxury hotels in London offer afternoon tea to guests and patrons, very few of them are able to provide the unique experience which is available here at The Landmark London.
Please read on to find out more.
The Winter Garden
The Winter Garden restaurant is set beneath a beautiful eight-story high atrium which boasts a gloriously resplendent Victorian cast iron framed glass roof. With great swathes of natural light and potted palm trees reaching up four floors, the Winter Garden is without doubt one of the most visually impressive and aesthetically pleasing places to enjoy afternoon tea in London.
All of the seating available in the Winter Garden are dining tables with wide, comfortable chairs. The tables are decorated with white tablecloths and the crockery is also plain white. This reflects the sophisticated elegance which many people still enjoy experiencing when they take tea in the afternoon in the capital.
We offer around 15 different tea options here at The Landmark London including two special blends: the Landmark Blend (which is a black tea with vanilla tones) and the Winter Garden Blend (which is a black tea that goes well with sweet dishes).
As you might expect, tea is served in white teapots with a silver tea strainer. These are made available on traditional silver three-tiered cake stands which are provided for each individual and come complete with a layer of finger sandwiches and two layers of sweet treats. Scones are brought to the table warm, as and when requested.
Sandwiches & Scones
Eight finger sandwiches are provided and vegetarian options are of course available. Naturally, our staff are always on hand to replenish guests with sandwiches as often as is required. The scones we serve are always pleasantly warm and arrive half wrapped in a beautifully folded napkin. We offer two raisin and two plain scones each of which comes served with strawberry preserve and clotted cream. Scones are added to the cake stand, whenever a guest requests them.
What is afternoon tea without a treat or two at the end? Guests are always encouraged to take advantage of a decadent Earl Grey macaroon or a tempting Champagne Jelly when they have finished their sandwiches and scones. We also have treats ranging from exotic fruit tarts to lemon meringue tart so guests can be sure there will always be something available to round the afternoon off in suitably luxurious fashion!
Without doubt, afternoon tea in The Landmark London is a very unique affair as we are able to provide guests and patrons with a service, location and ambience which combines old world charm and decadence with modern standards and expectations.
