London Luxury

When you are visiting London on a short shopping break, it makes sense to live luxuriously. As one of the top luxury hotels in London, you can rest assured that our staff will look after your every need when you stay at The Landmark Hotel. Whilst you may want to enjoy a bite of afternoon tea in London at our superb restaurant establishment, there is no doubt that the keen shoppers amongst you will want to hit the stores as quickly as possible. You can pack a lot into a weekend in London, so here are some of our top recommendations on the finest stores in the city.

Harrods

No matter what you want, the chances are that you will be able to find it in Harrods. The Knightsbridge store is a shopper’s paradise and you could spend literally hours browsing through the treasure troves of products that are stocked on its shelves. Their famous green and gold bags are instantly recognisable as a luxury brand no matter where you go in the world. Harrods is the biggest department store in Europe, and over twice the size of its nearest London competitor Selfridges. Famous figures such as Oscar Wilde, Charlie Chaplin, Sigmund Freud and Princess Diana were all regular visitors throughout their lives, and with over one million square feet of selling space you are bound to leave as a happy customer.

Fortnum and Mason

Often shortened to the name ‘Fortnum’s’, Fortnum and Mason was first established in 1707 and is an iconic British symbol. In 2012 the store had the honour of hosting a visit from Queen Elizabeth II, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duchess of Cambridge all at the same time. Though it is a celebrated department store in its own right, the shop was first founded as a grocery and the quality of its food produce is desired all over the world. It even claims to be the birthplace of the Scotch Egg back in 1738!

Savile Row

Whilst this is not strictly a single shop in itself, the fact is that when you want to order the very finest bespoke menswear Savile Row is the only place to find yourself a tailor. The tailor shops along this street are responsible for dressing some of the richest and most powerful men in the world, and you are guaranteed to receive a discreet service no matter which store you decide to go into.

Nicholas James

There are many fine jewellery shops to choose from in London, but Nicholas James is one of the best in the city’s famous Hatton Garden jewellery corner. Established in 1999, the company has quickly grown into the largest contemporary jewellery store in Hatton corner. Every piece of jewellery is beautifully designed, and with a specialisation in platinum and diamonds, there is sure to be something to please every lady and gentleman. With their strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest service possible, Nicholas James also takes bespoke commissions from clients.
