Westminster Volunteer Awards Ceremony at The Landmark London

Volunteer Centre Westminster, in partnership with The Landmark London, will be presenting the VCW Westminster Volunteering Awards, in the Empire Room at The Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, on Wednesday 13th June between 7.30 and 9.00pm.

The aims of the VCW Westminster Volunteer Awards Scheme are i) to recognise the outstanding work of volunteers in our community and ii) to recognize organisations that demonstrate good practice in how they recruit, induct, manage and develop their volunteers

This will be an uplifting occasion to celebrate the impact volunteers make in our community. Award winners in different categories will make short presentations about their work and awards and certificates will be presented.
Over 120 nominations have now been judged and winners chosen. Nominations were received in the following six categories:

Transformed Volunteer Award
- For volunteers who have made a big contribution whist at the same time overcoming obstacles such as disability, health, poverty, exclusion and for whom volunteering has had a major effect on their own personal development

Volunteer Impact Award
- For volunteers who have personally made an outstanding impact on the project/organization they have been working for

Volunteer Group Award
- For groups or teams of volunteers that have worked together to deliver an outstanding project or make a major impact through their work

Long Serving Volunteer Award
- For volunteers that have contributed outstanding long and devoted service to an organization for over five years

Youth Volunteer Award
- For 16-25 year old volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to volunteering in terms of time and commitment

Organisation  Award
- For organisations that have excelled in volunteer best practice, have created a range of interesting volunteering opportunities, and provided positive experiences to volunteers

Commenting on the forthcoming event, Volunteer Centre Westminster’s Chief Executive, Gareth Owen, said: “ This will be a special event for everyone involved.  Recognising the work of so many wonderful volunteers is a real privilege. We are extremely grateful the The Landmark London Hotel for providing us with such a marvelous venue to deliver the event this year.”
